Q: Does Las Vegas have a lot of crime? A: According to the Morgan Quitno Press, a Kansas research and publishing firm, Las Vegas is ranked as the tenth safest city in the United States for the second year in a row. The report examined 30 U.S. cities with populations exceeding half-million residents during 2001. However, David Roger, the city's incoming district attorney, stated in a press release, "Although the (city ranking) sounds good for us I don't know that it truly reflects our crime rate," and added, "It's encouraging to hear we do a good job, but our local crime numbers continue to increase."
